The HPA600B air purifier by Honeywell is part of their Professional Series and features HEPA filter technology for ultimate air purification power. This purifier is a perfect solution for pet owners, allergy sufferers, and anyone who wants a cleaner, fresher smelling home.
Our Verdict: This air purifier is one of Honeywell’s best-selling models. However, with its limited air purification coverage, you will need to purchase two of these air purifiers if you want to treat a larger room in the home. Yet despite its limited amount of coverage space, the air purifier truly shines in its ability to purify the air in a smaller space up to five times an hour.
Read on to find out what other innovative features this air purifier has to offer.
Overview and Features
Honeywell produces much more than just air purifiers, in fact, they lead the industry in humidifiers, ceiling fans, security systems, and much more. So, when they came out with the Professional Series line of air purifiers, we were excited to see what type of innovative features Honeywell had to offer.
Honeywell’s line of air purifiers promises to purify the air in any room up to five times an hour, while the average air purifier can only purify air three to four times an hour. This model is designed for allergy sufferers, pet owners, and anyone who wants to combat common environmental pollutants in the home such as dust, dust mites, mold, and more.
HEPA Filter Technology
This air purifier is equipped with the popular HEPA filter. This filter is designed to capture up to 99.9 percent of airborne particles. Competing air purifiers that utilize HEPA filter technology are only able to capture microns that measure in at 0.3, while this air purifier can capture particles as small as 0.1 microns.
The Atmosphere air purifier is one of Honeywell’s top competing models. It’s actually offered at a lower price compared to this Honeywell air purifier. But while the Atmosphere can treat rooms up to three hundred and ninety square feet, and this model can only treat rooms up to three hundred and twenty-five feet, the Atmosphere is only able to purify a room three times per hour, while this model can do so five times an hour, a stat that’s pretty impressive.

As we just mentioned, this model can purify the air in a three hundred and twenty-five square foot room up to five times each hour. But what does this mean exactly? The air purifier is able to clean the air in the room, removing harmful contaminants such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, smoke, and other pollutants several times an hour, while the average model in this price range can only do so three to four times per hour. This means this machine is not only fast, but it’s very efficient.
How to keep home clean and smelling great in a multi-pet household can be a real struggle. Not only do you have to worry about the occasional accident every now and then, but your pet’s hair or fur can also contribute to that musty smell that’s associated with multi-pet homes.
But this air purifier doesn’t just mask smells in the home, it cleans the air, removing contaminants that cause odor, such as dust and pet dander.
The air purifier doesn’t just come equipped with a true HEPA filter. In fact, it features a four-stage cleaning system.
- The first line of defense is the washable mesh pre-filter. This filter can capture larger particles in the air including dust and pet hair. The filter is both machine washable and vacuumable.
- The true HEPA filter is the second stage of the system’s filtering process.
- The air purifier’s antimicrobial coating will prevent bacteria from growing inside the filter system
- An activated carbon filter makes up the fourth filtering stage and it works to trap both VOCs and odors resulting in great air quality
Don’t want the air purifier running around the clock, especially when you’re at work all day? Then take advantage of the model’s built-in modes and timers.
At night, you can use the purifier’s sleep mode, which sets the air purifier on a lower, quieter speed and dims the machine’s lights.
When placed in the automatic mode, the air purifier will focus on a room’s pollutant level. You can easily view this by checking the machine’s air purity indicator light. If the machine detects high levels of pollutants it will instantly switch on and begin the air purification process.
Can This Filter Pick up Pet Hair?
Yes! This air purifier features a multi-stage filtration process that’s designed to pick up microscopic particles and larger particles such as pet hair and fur.
What Room is This Air Purifier Best Suited For?
Because the air purifier has a smaller range, it should be placed in a smaller room, such as a bedroom or dining room. We recommend the bedroom since this is where you will spend the majority of your time. However, if you want to treat larger common spaces in the home you can purchase two of these air purifiers.
Should The Filters Be Replaced?
The true HEPA filter should be replaced once every six months, while the carbon filter should be replaced every three to four months.
- Four-stage filtration system
- Easy to use and clean
- Built-in timer
- Automatic mode
- Sleep mode
- Provides excellent air quality
- True HEPA filter
- HEPA and carbon filter must be replaced every three to six months
